Bus Field Trip To Sabino Canyon

Our field trip was wonderful.  We had a lot of fun. Students learned about comofloge, hiked around the canyon, and had lunch. Thank you to all the parent volunteers! We appreciate your help!   

Language Arts:  This week we will be reading the story. Cool Ali By Nancy Poydar. Last week, students learned about suffixes, commas, and prefixes. The vocabulary words for our weekly story are admired, mimicked, haze, pale, noticed, and fussed. Spelling:  We are focusing on the –ves/ plural spelling patterns.

The spelling words are:  wife, wives, leaf, leaves, elf, elves, shelf, shelves, life, lives, rooftop, true, bone, draw, whose

Spelling Sentences: 1.Their lives were truly happy. 2. The elves stacked shoes on shelves.    Each Friday, your child will be given a test on spelling dictation sentences. Students should be able to write each sentence on Friday without errors.   

Math:  Students are learning about fact families, regrouping with addition, counting money, and story problems. Links for Math:   IXL Math Website offers 20 questions free a day per computer!  J
